Where to Study Floristry in Austria
After spending four years exploring floristry education across Austria, I want to share everything I learned about the best schools, programs, and what it actually takes to build a career with flowers in this beautiful country.

When I first decided to pursue floristry professionally back in 2019, I had no idea where to start. I was working as a marketing assistant in Linz, spending my weekends at farmers markets buying way too many flowers for my tiny apartment. Friends started asking me to do arrangements for their dinner parties, then birthdays, then a small wedding.
That wedding changed everything. Standing in a meadow outside Salzburg, watching the bride carry a bouquet I had made with shaking hands at 5 AM that morning, I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. The question was: where do you actually learn to do this properly?
Over the next four years, I attended three different programs across Austria. Each taught me something different, and honestly, each had its frustrations too. This site is my attempt to give you the honest information I wish someone had given me when I started.

Detailed experiences from the three programs that shaped my floristry career
Vienna Floristry Academy: My Two-Year Journey
The most comprehensive program I attended. Two years of intensive training in classical European design, business management, and wedding floristry. Not cheap, but transformative. Here is everything you need to know before applying.
Salzburg Flower Design School
Perfect for working professionals. I completed their six-month weekend intensive while keeping my day job. Smaller class sizes, hands-on Alpine flower techniques.
Graz Botanical Arts Institute
The most experimental program. Their summer workshops focus on contemporary installation art, sustainability, and pushing boundaries. Not traditional, but inspiring.
